Globalization is the process of interacting and integrating people, businesses and governments around the world. Globalization has accelerated since the eighteenth century thanks to advances in transport and communications technologies. This increase in global interactions has resulted in growth in international trade and exchanges of ideas, beliefs and cultures. Globalisation is first and foremost an economic process of interaction and integration which is associated with social and cultural aspects. However, conflict and diplomacy are also a significant part of the history of globalization and modern globalization.
